AIESEC Projects trains its members to be the global managers for tomorrow by giving them practical experience and making them aware of socially relevant, developmental, and cultural issues, and then giving them the means to act on these.

THE PROJECTS :

The E - THANG
The youth of today have, in some way or another, heard or known something about sustainable development.

For sustainable development to have an impact on our youth, we should focus on the problem of how to make them understand the concept clearly. We should be able to make them perceive sustainable development not just as a topical issue to discuss, but rather, induce to them as a process of long term change. Three elements of sustainable development have been identified: the environment, human development, and corporate involvement. All topics will be tackled, but we will concentrate our efforts on the environmental aspects.

Working closely with such organizations as the Haribon Foundation, UNDP, Greenpeace, and the Department of Natural Resources, the E-THANG will go to different highschools from November to January to hold seminars on sustainable development. All these seminars will be followed by an overnight environmental awareness trip outside Metro Manila, to be held in February. To top it all off, we are going to bring in foreign environmental experts and match them with our local NGO’s.

CEDP
The Community Entrepreneurship Development Program is AIESEC UPD’s long running project which aims to provide assistance to depressed communities. With activities varying from medical missions to health and gender seminars, CEDP promises a great sense of accomplishment, and the warmth of touching the lives of others.

This year we’ll make CEDP even better. We are currently working with various NGO’s such as the Foundation for Development Alternatives to improve our strategies and concretize a long-term cooperation/development plan for our et community. We are synergizing our efforts so that we can make more of a difference in improving lives.

HARMONIZING ASIAN TIES (H.A.T.S.)
The world’s attention is focused on the ASEAN region. Posting extremely high sustained growth during the past years, the ASEAN region promises to be a major player in the social economic & political climate of tomorrow.

But how much do we know about our ASEAN brothers?

Harmonizing ASEAN Ties is our project which seeks to promote cooperation and unity between the Philippines and our ASEAN neighbors in order to attain peace and progress. It will achieve this goal by educating people on the rich ASEAN culture, by providing venues for interaction among the youth, by providing the 7 ASEAN countries a venue for interaction and trade, and by helping ASEAN in its campaign to promote cultural understanding.

Working closely with the Exchange Department, H.A.T.S. will hold an ASEAN trade and food fair within one of the malls in Metro Manila by November, and a Night for the Arts in February. The Asia Pacific Exchange will be launched in order to encourage the exchange of students in the ASEAN region. Education sessions will be held for the LC and the OC.

COMPUTERS AND HUMANS IN PERFECT SYNERGY II

Computers and Humans in Perfect Synergy II builds on the gains made by CHIPS I which was held on the fiscal year 1995-1996. While CHIPS I is concentrated on introducing the potential of the internet to university students, CHIPS II will concentrate on the practical use of the current state-of -the art computer systems in the market today, giving particular emphasis on how they can improve the profability of businesses.

At a time when neophobia still abounds, CHIPS II visualizes a state where the effectiveness of computers as an instrument for development and cooperation through communication is clearly manifested. A state where the working sector and students are well educated about the multiple functions of computers and the role they play for maximizing business productivity through which we can promote economic progress.

In cooperation with the Exchange department, CHIPS II will meet its objective through a forum and trade fair which we will hold in one of the malls, education sessions for the LC and OC, and an exchange of technical foreign expert for our client companies.

...perhaps nothing can describe us better
than the mission which guides our plans.. our actions.. our decisions.. we are simply a rare combination
of total quality management, hard work, and dedication
spiced with a dash of humor, gimmicks & a helpful dosage of alcohol
we start with intensive research, to see what issues we must address
then we see what we can do about the issues we have selected
we plan and conduct different researches to test our plan
to confirm our assumptions
to make sure we are doing the right thing
then as a team, we put our plans into actiion
making corrections along the way
enjoying ourselves
training each other
making mistakes
but becoming better
and coming closer to our goals

allthese things done
because we know we can make a difference
and make this world what we want it to be
not just in the future
but right now
because there is just no better time
to make this world
a better place.

AIESEC Projects
48 years of tradition
for people who plan to have fun while making their mark...
